Letha H Brown Literacy Award

The International Board of directors adopted the Letha H Brown Literacy Award in honor of Past International President Letha H. Brown for her work in establishing literacy as a major emphasis of the organization.

Club literacy projects that are nominated for this award are judged each year at District Conferences.  First place winners for each year of the biennium are entered in the competition at the International Convention.

Every Altrusa club is eligible to enter one currently sponsored literacy project each year of the biennium. The project must be conducted and completed in its entirety during the 12 month period prior to entry .

Keep in mind that projects which are primarily fundraising projects or which generate funds for the club to use are not eligible for this award.
