District Six Governor
Welcome to the website for District Six of Altrusa International, Inc.
District Six is the largest of fourteen Altrusa Districts and includes
39
clubs in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. Altrusa International
provides community service, develops leadership, fosters international
understanding and encourages fellowship by an international network of
executives and professionals in diversified career classifications. Our
International organization has a focus on literacy and community
service.
I have chosen as a theme for the 2009-11 biennium, “Leaders in Service,
Giving Well.” Our symbol includes a wishing well surround by elements of
the Altrusa International logo and the words of the theme. It is up to
each club to decide how they can be give well to their communities
through their service projects and to their members through friendship,
networking, and leadership development.
This website is one tool provide by the District leadership to support
our clubs in their efforts to be giving wells—sources of good for their
communities. You will find contact information for the leadership,
newsletters, conference information, and links to clubs. We intend to
post information about the good work our clubs are doing to share our
successes with a wider audience.
